We source fabrics from a local textile mill in KZN and partner with local CMT suppliers for garment production. By prioritizing local supply chains, we reduce dependency on imported materials, minimize supply chain risks, and mitigate the impact of foreign exchange fluctuations—ensuring stability, quality, and long-term sustainability.

Phila Magwaza

Chairman of the Board

Phila is a qualified lawyer with extensive expertise in company law, corporate structuring, commercial litigation, and administrative law. In 2013, he was appointed by the KwaZulu Natal Provincial Treasury as one of the first members of the KwaZulu Natal Municipal Bids Appeals Tribunal. With over 18 years of experience, he plays a crucial role in the leadership of Ubunye Uniforms, ensuring the company’s continued growth and success.

Rodney Alborough

Joint CEO

Rodney is the founding member of Ubunye Uniforms, bringing over 40 years of experience in the South African security uniform and workwear industry. As a visionary leader, he has steered the company from its inception to its current position as an industry leader. Rodney is responsible for managing key strategic relationships with clients, introducing innovative fabric technologies, and guiding the company through industry developments and trends. His leadership fosters a culture of excellence and continuous improvement at Ubunye Uniforms.

Charles Reeves

Joint CEO

Charles joined Ubunye Uniforms on 1 September 2022, bringing over 30 years of experience in finance, operations, and executive leadership, including roles as CEO of various multinational and listed companies. As the Joint Chief Executive Officer, Charles is responsible for overseeing the operational aspects of the business, driving the development and implementation of both process and IT systems to streamline and enhance the company’s performance.

Richard McGlashan

Sales Director

Richard has been with Ubunye Uniforms for 30 years, bringing over 35 years of experience in the South African security uniform and workwear industry. As the Sales Director, he plays a key role in shaping the company’s sales strategies, determining pricing structures, and managing sales operations to drive growth and customer satisfaction.

Chris Pio

Financial Director

Chris has been with Ubunye Uniforms for 24 years and oversees the company’s entire financial function. He is responsible for managing all account-related queries and ensuring their timely resolution, maintaining smooth and efficient financial interactions between the company and its clients.

Sashni Singh

Procurement Director

Sashni has been with Ubunye Uniforms for 25 years and brings extensive experience in procurement and production scheduling. As the Procurement Director, she ensures that all client’s orders are fulfilled on time, in full, and to the highest quality standards, playing a vital role in maintaining the company’s reputation for reliability and excellence.

Sujatha Coopasamy

Human Resources Director

Sujatha has been with Ubunye Uniforms for 6 years and oversees all aspects of the company’s human resources, including staff training and development. She plays a key role in fostering a supportive, growth-oriented environment for all employees, ensuring their continued success and professional development within the company.
